Amplifying Women Tech Leaders

THE SITUATION

The firecracker founders of Women Tech Council (WTC) do really cool stuff. But they weren’t getting the type of attention they wanted, needed, or deserved—either locally or nationally.

THE SOLUTION

We knew once the world met these women, they couldn’t help but be impressed. So we introduced and positioned the founders to the media as movers and shakers in the tech space.

Cydni Tetro and Sara Jones, co-founders of the Women tech Council.

THE WORK

  • Conducted a media tour with the founders to introduce them to prominent media

  • Positioned the founders as thought leaders and experts in the market, which has led to on-going coverage

  • Developed brand messaging for WTC

  • Develop media strategy, messaging and outreach for WTC events

  • Conducted media and messaging training for key WTC stakeholders

THE RESULTS

  • Secured three on-going monthly segments at two major TV stations (conducted ongoing prep and key message development for each segment)

  • Produced special coverage at CES for NBC affiliate

  • Generated more than 30 print and broadcast stories (in addition to regular TV segments)

  • Helped expand the WTC’s groundbreaking SheTech STEM outreach program for girls from a single event to multiple statewide and regional events

  • Developed umbrella and event-specific SheTech messaging

  • Conducted media and event training for each event

  • Facilitated media coverage for each event

  • Increased media exposure by 65% in the first quarter (compared to previous year)

  • Generated a 10% engagement increase on social platforms
